FACILITY NOTES

In Nashville, Thomas Goldsmith reported that the
Gaylord Entertainment Center will "probably need a Metro
subsidy" of about $3.5M this FY, "more than was expected
when it was built" in '96. The city has lost $720,000 a
year by giving luxury suite revenue to the Predators, while
the team has also received 40% of gross concession revenue,
100% of advertising "inside the bowl" and 50% of the
remaining advertising. Nashville Mayor Phil Bredesen
originally predicted the arena would "break even" for the
first couple of years (Nashville TENNESSEAN, 1/10)....MLS
Crew President & GM Jamey Rootes said that he is "pleased
with the number of season-ticket renewals and believes the
team can surpass the MLS-record 9,282 sold last year."
Rootes "also expects naming rights to Columbus Crew Stadium
to be announced before the season" (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 1/9).
