TWI INKS WITH INT'L GROUP TO BRING SPORTS INTO MORE HOMES

IMG's TWI announced a partnership with Pacific Century
CyberWorks (PCC), which would give the Hong Kong technology
company "valuable sports content when it begins to offer a
broadband internet service to consumers next year,"
according to Jacob & Harverson of the FINANCIAL TIMES. The
new service, called Network of the World, would allow
consumers to view sports programming simultaneously on both
a traditional TV screen and a PC via the Internet with the
broadband network connection offering "high quality moving
pictures." TWI will take an equity stake in PCC, and the
two companies will jointly invest "several hundred million
dollars" in employees and production facilities. It also
gives PCC access to TWI's sports library and to the sports
programs it produces each year (FINANCIAL TIMES, 12/15)
