NORMAN TAKES OWNERSHIP IN MAMMOTHGOLF; PAK'S $1M DEAL?

          Greg Norman has become a spokesperson and part owner of
     Internet golf retailer Mammothgolf.com, according to GOLF
     WORLD BUSINESS.  Mammoth will build a "virtual storefront"
     for Norman's Web site at www.shark.com, where both Norman
     and Mammoth products will be sold.  Meanwhile, Norman and
     Maxfli will "not execute the final year" of their golf ball
     deal.  Norman, a Maxfli endorser since '90, is "also in the
     midst of negotiating a new club deal," as his contract with
     Cobra "expires at year's end."  Norman has held talks with
     Cobra, MacGregor and Orlimar (GOLF WORLD BUSINESS, 12/14).
          PAK CLOSE ON CALLAWAY: The AP's Doug Ferguson cites a
     golf industry source as saying that Se Ri Pak's impending
     club deal with Callaway "could be worth as much as" $1M over
     three years, "depending on her performance" (see THE DAILY,
     12/8).  Ferguson writes that while Callaway getting its logo
     on Pak's bag is a "key part of the deal," being able to use
     her in ads is "equally important," as the ads "could be
     especially effective in Asia" (AP, 12/15).
