RED SOX ADMIT THAT $$ PLANS FOR NEW FENWAY PARK DELAYED

A financing plan for a new Fenway Park has been delayed
by several months, "raising questions about the project's
cost," according to Susannah Patton of the BOSTON HERALD.
Red Sox ballpark spokesperson Kathryn St. John said the
"intensity of the season and the playoffs" slowed the
process, and that the team "hopes" to put forward a
financing plan by the "end of the winter." But critics of
the ballpark plan say that the delay "shows the team is
having problems putting together the financing." A source
"familiar with stadium financing issues" said that the team
"needs a major equity investor as the gap widens between
original estimates and real numbers." St. John said that
the Red Sox "still set the ballpark's price" at $545M,
before site preparation costs (BOSTON HERALD, 12/15).
