          NFL RATINGS SEASON-TO-DATE: CBS' NFL coverage is
     averaging a 10.5/24, up 6% from last season's 9.9/23.  "The
     NFL Today" is averaging a 3.0/8, up 11% from last season's
     2.7/8....Fox's NFL coverage is averaging a 11.0/24, up 1%
     from last season's 10.9/25.  "Fox NFL Sunday" is averaging a
     3.8/11, up 6% from last season's 3.6/11....ABC's "MNF" is
     averaging a 13.8/23, down 1% from '98's 13.9/22 (THE DAILY).
          COLLEGE RATINGS: ESPN2's NCAA football coverage, which
     consisted of 34 games, averaged a 0.93 rating (615,000 HHs),
     up 21% over last year's average of a 0.77 rating (469,000
     HHs).  Eleven of the games earned a 1.0 rating or higher and
     three ranked in ESPN2's top-10 most watched programs (ESPN).
          RATINGS FROM DC: In DC, Leonard Shapiro reports that
     the Wizards are averaging a 1.2 rating on HTS, up 20% from
     last year's final 1.0 rating.  The team is averaging a 1.8
     rating after three games on WBDC-TV, down from last year's
     WBDC average of a 2.2.  Ratings for the Capitals "have
     stayed the same" on HTS, with a .6 for 16 games so far --
     the number the team averaged last season.  Three October
     games on WBDC-TV averaged a .7 this year, down from a .9
     season average last year (WASHINGTON POST, 12/10).
          For broadcast numbers, one ratings point = 1,008,000
     homes.  For cable, "Cov. Area" = % of homes tuned in to that
     program in that network's universe of subscribers.
