OURHOUSE PARTY: WEB SITE TO TITLE SPONSOR FL CITRUS BOWL
Published November 30, 1999
IL-based Internet startup OurHouse.com "is expected to announce" this week that it will replace computer retail chain Comp USA as the title sponsor of the FL Citrus Bowl beginning this year, according to a report in CRAIN'S CHICAGO BUSINESS. OurHouse.com's announcement "will come in conjunction" with its launch, as the site will serve as an online home-improvement store and information resource. The Web site, which is 25%-owned by Ace Hardware, "reportedly has entered into a multimillion-dollar, multiyear agreement with ABC Sports" to replace Comp USA (CRAIN'S CHICAGO, 11/29 issue). BRANDWEEK'S Terry Lefton reports that Comp USA, which has recently been "besieged by Web purchases of computer hardware and software," had three years remaining on its contract (BRANDWEEK, 11/29 issue).
