          In DC, Caroline Mayer reports that to "settle
     complaints brought by" the FTC, CA-based MET-Rx USA and CO-
     based AST Nutritional Concepts "agreed to include safety
     warnings in their ads and on their labels for supplements
     that contain" androstenedione (WASHINGTON POST, 11/17).
     ...Melvin Helitzer, author of "The Dream Job: Sports
     Publicity, Promotion and Marketing," on the NBA's recent
     brand extension -- including NBA City and NBA.com TV: "[It]
     should do everything possible, always testing, always
     prodding, like an amoeba.  When they hit something that's
     irritating they'll withdraw" (U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT,
     11/15 issue)....The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Andy Bernstein
     reports that Gateway "has augmented its sponsorship" of the
     SLOC by signing a three-year deal with the U.S. Ski and
     Snowboard Association (USSA).  The "six-figure per-year
     deal" includes title sponsorship of at least one major USSA
     event each year (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/15 issue).
