DENNIS MANNION LEAVES ASCENT SPORTS FOR TOP POST WITH RAVENS

DENNIS MANNION is leaving his position as Senior VP at
Ascent Sports for a marketing and business development
position with the Ravens, effective December 1 (Ascent). In
Baltimore, Jon Morgan reports that Mannion will become
VP/New Business Development & Marketing and join four other
execs with responsibility for operating units who report
directly to team President DAVID MODELL and CEO ART MODELL.
For fans, "the hire could mean more Ravens purple on the
Internet, in stores, and even at the stadium." The team
"hopes Mannion will be able to boost earnings and make home
games at PSINet more fun to attend." The Bonham Group Chair
Dean Bonham: "I'm shocked that the Nuggets and Avalanche
would let him go. He is one of the most highly regarded
marketing executives in sports." Mannion: "I was really
seeking hands-on-ownership. This affords me the opportunity
to work with a passionate ownership" (SUN, 11/16).
