NEW KINGS OF THE HILL? NBA TEAM THE HOTTEST TICKET IN TOWN

          Ticket brokers are offering NBA Kings season ticket-
     holders "as much as $700 for Friday night's [home] opener --
     and are being turned down," according to Jim Van Vliet of
     the SACRAMENTO BEE, who reported on the increased national
     interest in the team.  Esquire "is among six national
     magazines lining up for stories" on the team and GQ "wants
     five hours" with G Jason Williams for a photo shoot.  NBAE
     Dir of Communications Mike Bass: "They are the league's hot
     ticket."  Kings co-Owners Joe and Gavin Maloof said that the
     NBA has told them that Williams merchandise "has become the
     hottest selling commodity in the NBA."  The team says that
     Williams merchandise "outsells his teammates 5 to 1"
     (SACRAMENTO BEE, 11/10).  In Sacramento, Martin McNeal
     reported that the Kings "recently reached the 10,000 mark"
     in season-ticket sales (SACRAMENTO BEE, 11/10).
