NFL: CBS' NFL coverage is averaging a 9.9/23, up 14% from last season's 8.7/21 through the same weekend. CBS' "The NFL Today" is averaging a 3.0/9, which is even with last year....Fox is averaging a 10.4/24, up 11% from last year's 9.4/22. "Fox NFL Sunday" is averaging a 3.6/11, up 9% from last year's 3.3/10....ABC's "MNF" is averaging a 14.6/25, up 13% from last year's 12.9/21 through the same weekend....ESPN's "NFL Primetime" is averaging a 5.17 ESPN rating, up 27% over last year. ESPN's "Sunday NFL Countdown" is averaging a 2.22, up 2% (THE DAILY).

MLB: For the season, "MLB on Fox" averaged a 2.9/9, down 6% from last year's final average of a 3.1/10 (Fox).

NOTE: In CA, Evan Tuchinksy notes that while the Gravity Games earned a 1.7 national rating, it earned a 2.9 in the L.A. market (Riverside PRESS-ENTERPRISE, 10/8). For broadcast numbers, one ratings point = 1,008,000 homes. For cable, "Cov. Area" = % of homes tuned in to that program in that network's universe of subscribers.
