FORMING A BROAD GROUP: BIG GROWS STAFF WITH NEW HIRINGS

          Broadband Interactive Group (BIG) named former Surfing
     Editor SKIP SNEED as the new Editor of Wave Action, one of
     BIG's sports magazines and as the surfing Editor of
     gothcha.com.  In other moves, CHRIS LIGHTBURNE, former
     Joyride Limited Snowboards COO & CFO, was named Senior VP;
     KEVIN FLANAGAN, former Oakley Dir of Int'l Sports Marketing,
     was named VP/Marketing; pro surfer and pro surfing event
     organizer IAN CAIRNS was named VP/Events; SCOTT BUSHMAN,
     former EXPN.com VP & GM and BVIG Dir of E-Commerce Business
     Development, was named VP/Interactive; and RICHARD MONTOYA,
     former Senior Producer at News Corp., was named GM of
     gotcha.com (BIG).  BIG CEO MATT JACOBSON said that the
     "first priorities" of BIG's execs "are to relaunch the BIG
     Web site and to produce content for the company's show" on
     Fox Sports Net.  The relaunch of the Web site "should happen
     in late winter."  Lightburne: "I know we're competing with
     guys out there like ESPN.com.  But come on --they're in
     Bristol, Conn.  We're in Surf City" (O.C. REGISTER, 10/27).
