EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          BRANDWEEK's Terry Lefton reports that Octagon has named
     JOHN GRIFFIN as Senior Sales Dir of its Alternative/Emerging
     Sports Division.  Griffin was previously with CT-based ISL
     (BRANDWEEK, 10/11 issue)....The NBA named MIKE BANTOM as
     VP/Group Manager, Player & Basketball Development.  Bantom
     has been with the league office since '89 and will oversee
     the NBA's player programs and community relations divisions
     and manage the NBA's relationships with int'l federations
     and leagues (NBA)....In Boston, Frank Dell'Apa reports that
     the MLS Revolution are "on the verge" of naming former MLS
     Deputy Commissioner SUNIL GULATI as Dir of Soccer Operations
     (BOSTON GLOBE, 10/12)....Former Boston Herald columnist
     GERRY CALLAHAN, who joined Sports Illustrated in '94, has
     returned to the Boston Herald and will start on October 22
     (BOSTON HERALD, 10/12)....The Sonics named MARC MOQUIN as
     Dir of Media Relations.  Moquin replaces CHERI HANSON, who
     was recently named Bucks Dir of PR (SEATTLE TIMES, 10/9).
