          The NHL named JAMEY HORAN as Dir of Communications. 
     Prior to joining the league, Horan was Dir of Communications
     for Comcast SportsNet in Philadelphia (NHL)....Woolf
     Associates named PAUL TEDESCHI as CMO and he will oversee
     the company's marketing initiatives, strategic planning and
     new business operations.  Tedeschi was previously President
     & Founder of Collegiate Advantage, a nat'l college marketing
     and promotions arm (Woolf Associates)....N.Y. Road Runners
     Club Dir Sponsorship Management/Event Marketing EVAN MOSER
     is "leaving" to become VP/Marketing at Gorp.com, a Web site
     "dedicated" to outdoor recreation and travel (BRANDWEEK,
     9/27 issue)....MN Gov. JESSE VENTURA named former Minnesota
     Zoo Exec Dir KATHRYN ROBERTS as the Metropolitan Sports
     Facilities Commission's new Chair.  The agency operates the
     Metrodome.  Roberts replaces HENRY SAVELKOUL. Roberts' new
     position is part time, paying $50,000 a year (ST. PAUL
     PIONEER PRESS, 9/28)....The Int'l Tennis Hall of Fame named
     JAN LESCHLY Chair of the BOD.  Leschly succeeds JOHN REESE,
     who had held the position since '91 (Int'l Tennis Hall of
     Fame)....The Ryder Cup "marked the last assignment" for
     Boston Globe reporter JOE CONCANNON, who has been covering
     golf for 34 years (GOLFWEB, 9/26)....RONA CHERRY has been
     named Editor-in-Chief and VP/New Magazine Development at
     Golf Digest Woman (Golf Digest Woman).
