JURY DECIDES NOT TO INDICT SHINN ON CRIMINAL CHARGE

          A York County (SC) grand jury yesterday "refused to
     indict" Hornets Owner GEORGE SHINN on criminal charges,
     according to Liz Chandler in an above-the-fold front-page
     feature in the CHARLOTTE OBSERVER.  That "ends the criminal
     investigation" of the alleged sexual assault case brought by
     LESLIE PRICE two years ago that was "restarted in April
     after new information became public."  Price "also suffered
     a second jolt" yesterday when her lead attorney in her civil
     suit withdrew from the case, "citing disagreements with
     Price over legal strategy."  Civil suits brought by Shinn
     and Price are still pending (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 9/24).
