     been named VP/Basketball Operations for the Jazz
     (PHILADELPHIA DAILY NEWS, 8/27)....Sonics Dir of Media
     Relations CHERI HANSON was named Dir of PR for the Bucks
     (MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL, 8/26)....Mavericks Media
     Services Coordinator J.J. CARTER "has left" to become
     Pistons Dir of PR (STAR-TELEGRAM, 8/27).....STEPHANIE MURPHY
     has joined NBAP as VP/Retail Sales for the NBA Store (NBA)
          OTHER EXECS: Phillip Morris has named BILLIE JEAN KING
     to its BOD (CHARLOTTE OBSERVER, 8/27)....In Minneapolis,
     John Millea reports that NHL "sources confirm" that DOUG
     RISEBROUGH has been chosen as the Wild's first GM.  A formal
     announcement "is expected next week" (Minneapolis STAR
     TRIBUNE, 8/27)....Internet Sports Network (ISN) has named
     attorney ALBERT GNAT, Helix Investments BOD Chair STEPHEN
     SADLER and Torstar Corporation Senior VP/Corporate
     Development DAVID SAMUEL to its BOD (ISN)....The WCHL Fresno
     Falcons hired JIM FRIES as Dir of Marketing.  The team has
     also hired BRIAN CLARK to handle both play-by-play and media
     relations (Falcons)....The Greater Seattle Chamber of
     Commerce appointed JAMES HAUGH to President/Sports & Events
     Council of Seattle-King County.  Haugh was most recently GM
     of the WA-based Central Park Tennis Club (GSCC).
