PR FIRM HAS RETIRED ATHLETES PUTTING ON THEIR RALEIGH CAPS

          Raleigh, NC-based PR firm Richard French & Associates'
     "two-month old sports marketing practice" was profiled by
     Renee DeGross of the Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER.  The firm has
     signed 30 sports figures, including Bob Cousy, Lynn Swann
     and Larry Csonka, "for corporate entertainment and personal
     appearances."  It is also "marketing another 24 sports
     figures" in conjunction with FL-based Sports Masters Int'l. 
     DeGross wrote that French's athletes "would make" $2,000-
     35,000 for "each pitch or corporate sponsorship appearance." 
     Richard French Group Account Dir Jay Wisse, on the firm's
     clients: "A lot of these athletes didn't make millions ...
     the kind of money athletes make now" (N&O, 8/24).
