          BRANDI, STILL IN THE NEWS: CNN's Jeannie Moos profiled
     Nike's "Inner Active" sports bra -- which Brandi Chastain
     revealed during her WWC victory celebration and was
     officially unveiled at NikeTown N.Y. Wednesday.  Chastain,
     on the bra: "It's a technical piece of equipment. It's not
     just something you throw on like a [pair] of socks."  Moos
     said that "unlike regular sports bras, the new Nike has cup
     sizes -- 'A' through 'D.'"  Liberty F Kym Hampton was also
     at the unveiling ("The World Today," CNN, 8/19).  Chastain
     was interviewed during the fourth quarter of last night's
     Seahawks-49ers game by ESPN's Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann
     and Paul Maguire.  Chastain, when asked by Theismann if she
     thought the U.S. team "would have the impact that it has
     had": "Absolutely not.  I never thought I'd be standing here
     with you guys" (ESPN, 8/19). 
          NCAA NOTES: FSN's Jim Rome, on Suzuki's Heisman Trophy
     sponsorship: "This trophy is supposed to be a symbol of
     toughness and grit -- you know, manhood.  Ford I get.  Chevy
     is fine.  But Suzuki? Suzuki makes pink jeeps that tip over. 
     Dudes don't own these rigs, just like they don't own Miatas
     and convertible Volkswagen Rabbits" ("Last Word," FSN,
     8/19)....WA-based sports Web sites network Rivals.com has
     signed a three-year deal to sponsor the Hula Bowl, replacing
     Hooters Restaurants, which reportedly paid $500,000 annually
     for the title rights (SEATTLE P-I, 8/20)....Seton Hall Univ.
     has contracted Nelligan Sports Marketing to handle the
     school's sponsorship and marketing programs.  Also, the
     school will unveil new athletics logos and marks at an
     August 25 press conference (Seton Hall)....The Univ. of AZ
     will receive $550,000 for its appearance in the Pigskin
     Classic against host Penn State, and will also receive
     $80,000 in airfare from game sponsor the Nat'l Association
     of Collegiate Dirs of Athletics (ARIZONA DAILY STAR,
     8/20)....The UCLA Store's adidas Shop will celebrate its
     grand opening tomorrow with "The World's Largest UCLA
     Football Jersey,"  provided by Philadelphia-based Action
     Sports America (Silverman Marketing).
          MORE NOTES: In Salt Lake City, Lisa Riley Roche wrote
     that it "is believed" that MI-based office furniture
     manufacturer Herman Miller, Inc. has agreed to contribute
     between $5-10M and office furniture to the 2002 Olympic
     Games (DESERET NEWS, 8/19)....ESPN NFL analyst Joe Theismann
     has been named spokesperson for the L.A.-based Irwin
     Naturals/4 Health Inholtra and Cholestaid brands
     (Irwin)....NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon has teamed with CT-
     based ASC Games to co-design "Jeff Gordon XS Racing," which
     is currently available for PCs (USA TODAY, 8/20)....MI-based
     Morley Candy has created a Packers S LeRoy Butler chocolate
     bar with crispy rice (Morley)....MN-based Sparta Foods has
     been named exclusive manufacturer of "Purple Pride" tortilla
     chips, which are available in Minneapolis/St. Paul area Cub
     Stores.  Other retail supermarkets in the Twin Cities will
     make the chips available within the next week (Sparta).
