FACILITY NOTES

          Buccaneers GM Rich McKay said yesterday that the team's
     new training facility "will not be completed in time for
     next year's training camp," with a decision on next year's
     camp site expected "next month."  Bucs officials have
     previously toured Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex and
     the Univ. of Tampa (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 8/20)....Phillies
     President David Montgomery will represent the team at a
     public meeting this Wednesday to present the team's case for
     a new ballpark at Broad & Spring Garden streets
     (PHILADELPHIA INQUIRER, 8/20)....In Knoxville, Nick Gates
     wrote that the Civic Coliseum installed a $200,000
     refrigeration system, allowing it to "decrease the time it
     takes to lay" ice at the facility (NEWS-SENTINEL,
     8/19)....The Univ. of TX will spend $1.5M to place new
     artificial turf at Disch-Falk Field "later this year." 
     Univ. of TX AD DeLoss Dodds estimated the cost of a grass
     surface at the ballpark at $3.5M (AMERICAN-STATESMAN, 8/18).
