PUTTING HIS TWO CENTS IN: OLBERMANN TO SPEAK OUT FOR FENWAY
Published July 6, 1999
Fox Sports Net announcer Keith Olbermann "promises to
turn his" commentaries during Fox's telecast of next week's
MLB All-Star events "into a 'Save Fenway' cause celebre,"
according to Jim Baker of the BOSTON HERALD. Olbermann, who
calls the team's plans to replace Fenway Park "madness,"
"blasphemous" and "economically moronic": "I'm going to do
my best to turn All-Star week into a protest march." More
Olbermann: "With Fenway, people go to see the ballpark. ...
My father was an architect. You knock down the area around
Fenway and build an addition on top, if that's what it
takes" (BOSTON HERALD, 7/4).
