children on Saturday in Charleston, WV and said that his
"failure to show up for a similar event last week in Florida

LINDSAY DAVENPORT-STEFFI GRAF final at Wimbledon, to which
announcer DICK ENBERG noted that Knight "is a big tennis

Late Show" with David Letterman (THE DAILY)....ESPN's Dan
Patrick, on the trophy awarded to TIGER WOODS for winning

head coach RUDY TOMJANOVICH temporarily withdrew from his
position as coach of USA Basketball on Monday citing medical
reasons. 76ers coach LARRY BROWN will handle duties for

7/5)....Raptors F VINCE CARTER has extended his agreement
with "embattled" agent TANK BLACK through 2011. Carter, who
is Black's only NBA client: "Tank is helping me realize all

to the NFLPA's disciplinary complaint that he had engaged in
"illegal activity regarding the recruitment of former

of MO men's basketball coach NORM STEWART, who retired this
past April, will receive $945,000 for his move from coach to
consultant to the chancellor at the school. Half of the
payment will come from the university's athletic budget, the

7/3)....COCA-COLA announced the recall of half-liter bottles
of its Bonaqua Plus purified water on Friday because Polish
Gov't scientists had detected coliform bacteria in the
product. The move marks the second Coca-Cola beverage
recall in Poland in a week (N.Y. TIMES, 7/3).
