AFL SET TO ANNOUNCE EXPANSION CITIES TODAY: HERE'S A PREVIEW

          The AFL will announce today that the league "will add"
     franchises in Chicago and New Orleans for the 2001 season,
     according to Michael Hirsley of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE, who
     notes that Chicago's ownership will include former Bears RB
     Walter Payton, Chicago business exec Arthur Price and L.A.
     business execs Alan and Peter Levin.  Hirsley reports that
     Chicago's team will play at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont,
     IL.  Hirsley cites an AFL spokesperson as saying teams in
     Raleigh-Durham, San Diego, Jacksonville and Cleveland "could
     join anytime" between 2000 and '03 (CHICAGO TRIBUNE, 7/29).
