FIRM HOPES SUITORS COME TAPPING, RAPPING ON RAVENS' DOOR

          The Ravens have retained Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown to
     manage the sale of a minority ownership position in the
     team, according to Mike Preston of the Baltimore SUN.  The
     process "could take several months and extend into the first
     week of January."  Deutsche Banc Alex. Brown's Mayo Shattuck
     said that there "had already been several interested
     parties" in the Ravens' stake.  A "high-ranking" team
     official said the percentage of the team the minority owner
     could acquire "is negotiable."  Shattuck said the sale
     process will include "putting a financial memorandum
     together for potential investors, and then a qualification
     process for the investors" (Baltimore SUN, 7/28).
