NO JACKETS REQUIRED: NHL TEAM TABS SMG TO MANAGE ARENA

7.20.1999

          The NHL Blue Jackets have hired SMG to manage Columbus'
     new downtown Nationwide Arena.  SMG named Bob Newman as
     Regional GM to coordinate the management activities at both
     Nationwide Arena and the Greater Columbus Convention Center. 
     Jay Cooper, former Dir of Operations at SMG-managed Ice
     Palace in Tampa, will be the on-site GM at the arena (SMG).
