FLORIDA FACILITY NOTES

          While Jaguars Owner Wayne Weaver has bid to bring an
     AFL team to Jacksonville, the league "mandates" at least a
     10,000-seat facility, a mark "which the Jacksonville
     Coliseum misses by roughly 2,000."  But Weaver said he has
     not had any talks with city officials about a new arena. 
     Weaver: "I certainly would encourage the mayor to pursue an
     arena.  I think it's needed for our community, whether we
     have Arena football or not" (FL TIMES-UNION, 7/20).
          Broward County officials have said it would turn any
     debate on a new ballpark for the Marlins to the voters, who
     would be asked if they would support general obligation
     bonds to help pay for a new facility.  But County
     Commissioner John Rodstrom said "that's only" if Marlins
     Owner John Henry "comes to the table with substantial risk
     and contribution on his part" (SUN-SENTINEL, 7/18).
