     married his longtime companion RHONDA ROOKMAAKER on Saturday
     in the FL Keys (MIAMI HERALD, 7/18)....Also on Saturday, WNBA
     Comets G JENNIFER RIZZOTTI married WILLIAM SULLIVAN in
     Glastonbury, CT.  Sullivan is a teacher in Norwich and met
     Rizzotti while at UConn (HARTFORD COURANT, 7/18). 
          NAMES: U.S. women's soccer team D CARLA OVERBECK threw
     out the first pitch at last night's Mets-Orioles game. 
     Overbeck was wearing a "Fila Soccer" T-shirt (THE DAILY).
     ...Oakland Tribune columnist ART SPANDER will be inducted
     into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a winner of the '99
     Dick McCann Memorial Award for "long and distinguished
     reporting in the field of professional football" (OAKLAND
     TRIBUNE, 7/17)....Stars/Rangers Owner TOM HICKS is profiled
     in BUSINESS WEEK under the header, "An Ambition As Big As
     Texas: Tom Hicks Is Molding A Media Dynasty The Hard Way"
     (BUSINESS WEEK, 7/26 issue)....US West agreed to merge with
     PHILIP ANSCHUTZ's Qwest Communications in a $36.5B deal (USA
     TODAY, 7/19)....ALONZO MOURNING's Zo's Summer Groove over the
     weekend is expected to raise more than $200,000 for the
     Children's Home Society of FL and 100 Black Men of FL (MIAMI
     HERALD, 7/19).  A basketball game held Sunday drew 8,000,
     though all 12,500 tickets were sold (PALM BEACH POST, 7/19).
