          RATINGS NOTES: Through four games, the "WNBA on NBC" is
     averaging a 1.6/5, down 6% from last year's 1.7/5 after five
     telecasts through the same weekend (NBC)....Domestic
     carriers of the French Open (France2 and France3) and
     Wimbledon (BBC) saw viewership increases exceeding 25% (WTA
     Tour)....Fox Sports Net Ohio's telecasts of last Friday's
     Reds-Indians game earned a 7.5 HH rating, setting an all-
     time ratings record for FSNO (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 7/16).
     ...Fox Sports Net Detroit, which has carried 56 of 89 Tigers
     games, is averaging a 2.7 local rating, up 17% over last
     year's 2.3.  The team "also is doing well" on WKBD-UPN. 
     Through 15 telecasts, the Tigers are averaging a 4.9, up 11%
     from a 4.4 at the same point last season (DET. NEWS, 7/16).
          NOTE: For broadcast numbers, one ratings point =
     994,000 homes.  For cable, "Cov. Area" = % of homes tuned in
     to that program in that network's universe of subscribers.

TNT’s Stan Van Gundy, ESPN’s Tim Reed, NBA Playoffs and NFL Draft

On this week’s pod, SBJ’s Austin Karp has two Big Get interviews. The first is with TNT’s Stan Van Gundy as he breaks down the NBA Playoffs from the booth. Later in the show, we hear from ESPN’s VP of Programming and Acquisitions Tim Reed as the NFL Draft gets set to kick off on Thursday night in Motown. SBJ’s Tom Friend also joins the show to share his insights into NBA viewership trends.
