          Longtime Flyers announcer GENE HART passed away
     yesterday.  He was 68 (Flyers)....The WWF "closed a deal
     yesterday" to create a "massive" $25M theme restaurant with
     "more than" 600 seats in N.Y.'s Paramount Theater site,
     located at 43rd St. and Broadway.  It is expected to be open
     in early November (N.Y. TIMES, 7/15)....TV GUIDE profiles
     "the new stars of NASCAR" and runs four different
     collectible covers featuring BOBBY LABONTE, TONY STEWART,
     JEREMY MAYFIELD and JEFF BURTON (TV GUIDE, 7/17 issue)....In
     Cleveland, Bob Roberts wrote on the feud between DENISE
     DEBARTOLO YORK and EDDIE DEBARTOLO JR. and wrote the "kids
     have been playing an embarrassing game of emotional
     checkers" (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 7/14)....In N.Y.,
     Mitchell Fink writes that MICHAEL JORDAN has "pulled the
     plug" on the Las Vegas roast CHARLES BARKLEY and other NBA
     players were planning for Jordan at the MGM Grand (N.Y.
     DAILY NEWS, 7/15)....Sparks C LISA LESLIE will appear on the
     new Disney TV show "The Jersey," set to air in September
     (USA TODAY, 7/15)....The ROONEY family has sold a "shuttered
     jai alai arena" in Palm Beach, FL to DON KING for "about"
     $6.25M.  King will be relocating Don King Productions HQs to
     the arena (PITTSBURGH BUSINESS TIMES, 7/12 issue).
