FACILITY NOTES: ROCKETS LIKE DOWNTOWN; RED SOX TO PAY UP

In Houston, John Williams writes that the Rockets and
the Harris County-Houston Sports Authority "appear ready to
agree" that a new arena will go downtown. Sources say that
"three downtown locations are being investigated amid
     intense negotiations" (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/13).
$$ BILLS: Red Sox CEO John Harrington, asked how much
private financing the team was willing to contribute toward
a new ballpark: "It will probably be one of the largest
contributions of any team so far" (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/13).
