SLAM DUNCAN: CNN/SI's Sonja Steptoe examined the
marketability of Spurs C/F Tim Duncan, who "has yet to
cultivate a non-basketball fanbase or create an off-court
persona." Duncan: "I'm not that cross-over entertainer. ...
I'm not somebody that goes out and [is going to] do a movie
this summer or anything like that." Duncan's agent Lon
Babby: "His style is really defined by his substance, and he
will pave his own way and develop relationships with
companies that want those qualities. You can't make
somebody into something they're not" (CNN/SI, 6/28).
