          The NBA named JEFFREY POLLACK to the newly created
     position of VP/Marketing & Corporate Communications. 
     Pollack, who founded THE SPORTS BUSINESS DAILY in '94, has
     been a communications consultant to the league for the past
     year providing assistance during the league's labor
     negotiations and during its marketing effort to begin the
     shortened season.  NBA Commissioner DAVID STERN said,
     "Jeffrey has great experience in communications management
     and brand-building.  His work this past year has been
     invaluable and we're delighted he is able to join us on a
     full-time basis.  The growth and diversity of our business
     activities are accelerating.  We deal with global marketing
     partners, the worldwide manufacturing and distribution of
     NBA consumer products, and a volume of domestic and
     international television programming that makes the NBA one
     of the largest producers of programming in the world.  When
     you add recent initiatives like the NBA Store in New York
     and the NBA City restaurant in Orlando, the need for
     dedicated staff to focus on brand building and marketing
     communications is clear.  Jeffrey Pollack is the right
     person to lead that effort for us."  Before starting THE
     DAILY, Pollack was VP at Winner/Wagner & Associates (NBA).
