BELLE'S CEREAL A BUST (SHOCKER), BUT WILL JUSTICE PREVAIL?

Indians LF David Justice "will unveil his version" of
"Slugger Cereal," a cornflakes product made by NJ-based
Int'l Home Foods, today at a news conference for the Boys
and Girls Clubs of Cleveland, according to David Adams of
the AKRON BEACON JOURNAL. At Justice's "request," a portion
of the profits from the cereal sales will go to the
organization. The cereal will hit Cleveland-area grocery
stores later this month. Cleveland-based Global Sports &
Promotions President Grant Dinner, who created the "Slugger
Cereal" concept, "did not secure approval from" or pay the
"required fee" to the Indians for use of their marks, so
Justice will appear on the package in a white uniform.
Dinner launched the product around Orioles RF Albert Belle
and "hopes to expand" the concept to "other local markets"
with other MLBers. Sales of Belle's cereal have been
     "disappointing" (AKRON BEACON JOURNAL, 6/16).
