SPORTSLINE JUMPS ON MLB DEAL; WNBA'S GOT NEXT WEB DESIGN

SportsLine USA's deal with MLB to produce the league's
Web site is for three years, according to L.A. Lorek of the
Ft. Lauderdale SUN-SENTINEL, who writes that the agreement
includes a split in revenue "from site-related advertising
and merchandise sales" between SportsLine and MLB after the
company "gets a guaranteed amount of revenue." News of the
deal sent shares of SportsLine up $2.88 yesterday, to close
at $34.75. The stock is "still down" 36% since mid-March
     when it hit a high of $54.69 (SUN-SENTINEL, 5/27).
THEY'VE GOT WEB GAME: BROADCASTING & CABLE's Richard
Tedesco writes that WNBA.com has "revamped" its site this
season and added a "package of video highlights" that will
appear "each day on the site from the previous night's
games." The site will also include real-time GameStats Live
box scores and an "enhanced" statistics section. The site's
Audio Season Pass, which offers subscribers "online access
to radio broadcasts of all league games," returns for its
second season at a cost of $8 (BROADCASTING & CABLE, 5/24).
