FACILITY NOTES

In St. Paul, IN Univ. sports economist Mark Rosentraub
addressed a civic forum in St. Paul Monday on a new Twins
ballpark: "The greater Minneapolis-St. Paul market is just
too small to generate enough revenue. If you build a
stadium, paid for it 100 percent and then handed the keys to
the Twins, it wouldn't be enough to be competitive" (ST.
PAUL PIONEER PRESS, 5/26)....The Pirates have sold 42 of the
65 available luxury suites at PNC Park, which is set to open
     in 2001 (PITTSBURGH POST-GAZETTE, 5/26)....NFL sources said
that the Patriots' new stadium "will probably have" 80 to
100 luxury suites, down from the reported 100-120 (BOSTON
GLOBE, 5/26)....In Raleigh, Ned Barnett profiles the new
Centennial Arena and writes, "The arena will fly. We will
like where it takes us. Get your tickets now. ... It will
be the hub of a tremendous commercial and cultural boom"
(Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 5/26)....Officials had a ceremony
for the KS Int'l Speedway, which will cost $220M and is
scheduled to open in 2001 (K.C. STAR, 5/26). NASCAR
