COYOTES ARENA GETS ANOTHER BOOST AS TOWN JOINS DISTRICT

          The Coyotes "landed two big wins this week" after
     Fountain Hills, AZ, leaders voted "unanimously Thursday
     night to join a stadium district, two days after voters in
     Scottsdale overwhelmingly approved its formation," according
     to Alexa Haussler of the ARIZONA REPUBLIC.  Fountain Hills
     now joins Scottsdale and Avondale in a "special taxing
     district" to help finance a proposed $624M sports-
     entertainment complex that would include an 18,000-seat
     arena for the Coyotes.  As an incentive to join the
     district, project developer Ellman Cos. and the Coyotes have
     offered Fountain Hills, Guadalupe and Avondale $1M each.  AZ
     state law requires "at least two cities to form a stadium
     district" (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 5/21).
