PACKING IT IN? FAVRE TO LIMIT APPEARANCES, ENDORSEMENTS

Packers QB Brett Favre's marketing agent Joe Sweeney
said that Favre "intends to curtail and perhaps eliminate"
his paid public appearances and autograph signings and may
also "be choosier in his endorsement work," according to Bob
Wolfley of the MILWAUKEE JOURNAL SENTINEL. Sweeney: "Brett
is cutting his off-the-field activities to focus on family
and football." Sweeney said that there would still be a
weekly Packers TV show taped at Favre's Milwaukee
restaurant, but Favre would not be featured as he has been
in the past. Favre will "continue to honor" his multi-year
deal with Nike, but Sweeney said "he is not going to renew"
many of his endorsements. Favre's father, Irvin, said that
Favre's wife, Deanna, will "take a more active role" in her
husband's business dealings. Irvin Favre: "Deanna is going
to take a little more control in the business. He's just
not going to do as much of that" (JOURNAL SENTINEL, 5/19).
