BLUE JACKETS PLEDGING THE NHL FRATERNITY: BREAK NEW CAMPAIGN

An ad campaign for the NHL Blue Jackets that begins
airing this week will "focus on creating a sense of pride"
in the franchise and use the tag "Columbus Blue Jackets,
your team," according to Barnet Wolf of the COLUMBUS
DISPATCH. The ads, which were developed by OH-based Zero
Base Advertising, will "help sell" PSLs and season tickets.
Cost of the campaign was not disclosed. Zero Base Partner
Doug McIntyre, on the campaign: "The idea is to welcome
Columbus fans into the NHL fraternity, but also offer a
challenge." The ads will run on local news and during
"local cut-ins" for Stanley Cup playoff games and prime-time
shows. A print component will also run, along with a direct
mail and radio effort (COLUMBUS DISPATCH, 5/15).
SPURRING THEM ON: The Spurs named S.A.-based Creative
Civilization as their ad agency of record. The agency
created the "Go Spurs Go" campaign for the team's playoff
run and will assist in other endeavors (THE DAILY).
