FACILITY NOTES

In Raleigh, Centennial Authority members agreed to let
the Hurricanes "take over the task" of finishing the
"lucrative" Ledge Lounge of the new arena. The team was
afraid construction could get behind schedule and its
profits "would have plummeted" without completion of the
luxury seating section (Raleigh NEWS & OBSERVER, 5/12).
...In Boston, Gregg Krupa writes that in front of 250
business execs at the Boston Harbor Hotel, MA House Speaker
Thomas Finneran and Patriots Owner Robert Kraft looked "more
like old buddies" and in fact, appeared "downright
convivial" (BOSTON GLOBE, 5/14)....The Cubs announced
"tighter security measures" starting this weekend. The "most
notable difference" will be a ballpark-wide restriction on
beer sales, limiting each buyer to two at a time, rather
than four. Also, additional security will be in the
bleachers (CHICAGO SUN-TIMES, 5/14)....The Harris County-
Houston Sports Authority Construction Committee selected
vendors to provide a video board and scoreboards at Enron
Field. The committee selected SACO to provide a LED sign
using its Smart Vision technology. Daktronics will provide
the black-and-white scoreboards and color matrix for
cartoons and advertising (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 5/13).
