NOTHING BUT NET: NETS CO-OWNER GETS RAVES IN PAPER PROFILE

Nets co-Owner LEWIS KATZ has taken the team, "and the
NBA, by storm," and is "leaving fans and other owners
wondering: Who is this upstart with all the big ideas?"
according to Brad Parks of the Newark STAR-LEDGER. Katz is
"brilliant because he knows people, and made his fortune on
the ability to read people." Parks: "It doesn't matter who
you are, Lewis Katz can relate to you. ... [He] doesn't want
the attention of owning a sports franchise, doesn't need to
be in the newspapers. Don't be surprised if the YankeeNets
merger ends up being a deal that makes [Yankees Owner
George] Steinbrenner look like a winner publicly but is, in
fact, more beneficial to the Nets" (STAR-LEDGER, 4/18).
