VIRTUAL INSANITY! PVI INKS MLB TEAMS, IMG/SCIDEL RE-UP DEAL

NJ-based Princeton Video Image (PVI) has reached deals
to provide virtual ad services for the '99 regular-season
home games for the MLB Giants and Phillies. PVI has a
similar deal with the Padres. PVI expects its cash revenue
from these three teams to be up more than 40% over last
year. Toyota, Amtrak and the PA State Lottery have already
signed on as advertisers for the '99 season (PVI). Coca-
Cola has also signed on with PVI (Kyle Pope, WALL STREET
JOURNAL, 3/26). In N.Y., Stuart Elliott profiles PVI and
reports that in addition to sports, PVI is inserting
"virtual product placements into episodes of entertainment
     programs" on Mexico's Televisa (N.Y. TIMES, 3/29).
SCI CAM: The SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Langdon
Brockinton reports that IMG has extended its "consulting
relationship" with Israel-based virtual ad company SciDel
Technologies through 2000 (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 3/29).
