ANNA 'NOTHER THING HE LIKES ABOUT THE WTA TOUR IS....

The WTA Tour "officially has surpassed" the ATP Tour in
"excitement, for personalities, for overall watchability,"
according to Greg Cote of the MIAMI HERALD, who writes that
despite "great tumult Monday at the pinnacle of the men's
rankings (with Carlos Moya losing his No. 1 ranking) ... the
women were still more interesting." Cote: "The women? All
good, baby. It isn't just the sex appeal, although it is
that, too. The WTA Tour promotes it with a calendar, and
why not?" Cote writes that the WTA Tour is "at times pro
wrestling in a short skirt" because of "bitter rivalries ...
the men do not have." Apart from the ATP Tour having "too
few personalities and too many short points full of power,
not art, there is too much parity," with many quarterfinal
matches "littered with no-names because your few marquee
     players disappeared" (MIAMI HERALD, 3/23).
