^ = Pete Sampras ended his representation contract with IMG on February 22. He was represented by Jeff Schwartz, who left IMG on February 23. The matter of Sampras' representation is currently under dispute (THE DAILY). BLAME IT ON RIOS? In Miami, Meri-Jo Borzilleri writes that Rios is "likely" to follow Sampras and "hire" Schwartz as his attorney. She adds that the "issue" in IMG's pending lawsuit against Schwartz is, "Are Sampras and Rios IMG property, or property of an agent?" Schwartz, on leaving IMG: "I had my ups and downs over the last year with IMG. I thought, 'Why am I going to keep banging my head against the wall?" Schwartz is "expected to accompany" Sampras at The Lipton Championships in FL. With his new firm, Schwartz said that "he'll do more contracts, less traveling and marketing" and "would also like to branch out to different sports, like golf and basketball" (MIAMI HERALD, 3/11).
