ESPN CHILTON POLL EXAMINES THE CHANGE IN FAN ACTIVITY

          This week, the ESPN Chilton Sports Poll examines the     average size of fan activity for the twelve sports that     account for nearly 80% of all fan activity in the U.S.      Sports included are the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NCAA basketball     and football, pro golf, tennis, soccer, figure skating, auto     racing and boxing.  Two changes are shown: January '98     compared with January '99 and December '98 with January '99.

Last month, ESPN Chilton Poll Index presented a Sports Fan Index in THE DAILY showing the sum interest for the top twelve sports declining 2.4% from '97 to '98. Comparing January '98 with January '99, the decline is much steeper. -30-

The second-ever MWC commissioner chats with SBJ’s Ross Nethery about her climb through the collegiate ranks. Nevarez is a member of SBJ’s Game Changers Class of 2019. Nevarez has had stints at the conference level in the Pac-12, West Coast Conference, and Mountain West Conference as well as at the college level at Oklahoma, Cal, and San Jose State. She shares stories of that journey as well as how being a former student-athlete guides her decision-making today.
