NADER HAS TWO SUITS AGAINST PATS DEAL; IS ENTHUSIASM WANING?

Consumer advocate Ralph Nader is "solidifying plans for
a legal challenge" to CT's $374M stadium project for the
Patriots, according to Mike Swift of the HARTFORD COURANT.
Nader said his anti-stadium group will file a federal and a
state suit about a month from now, "when a series of
critical stadium deadlines are coming due." The state suit
will argue that the stadium package "amounted to a special
benefit" to Patriots Owner Robert Kraft, which is in
"violation of the equal protection clause of the state
constitution." Swift: "Whether anti-stadium forces have a
good chance in court ... is unclear" (HARTFORD COURANT,
2/25). In Hartford, Jeff Jacobs writes that he now sees
"enemies" of the Patriots deal "everywhere." Jacobs: "What
I don't see anymore are the supporters. Would it kill Kraft
to get out there and rah-rah this magnificent bone he's
devouring? Or is he laying low in case he wants to schlepp
back to Boston or sell to [L.A.]" (HARTFORD COURANT, 2/25).
