          Singer VANESSA WILLIAMS "denied rampant gossip" linking
     her to MICHAEL JORDAN on Friday's "Entertainment Tonight":
     "There's a gigantic rumor that Michael Jordan was going to
     leave his wife for me, which I find fascinating since I've
     never met the man" ("ET," 2/19)....In N.Y., Mitch Lawrence
     writes that PERCY "MASTER P" MILLER's "deep pockets have
     rival agents scared.  He's shown he's not afraid to spend
     money to steal players" (N.Y. DAILY NEWS, 2/21).  Heisman
     Trophy winner RICKY WILLIAMS, on why he dropped WOOLF
     ASSOCIATES in favor of NO LIMIT SPORTS: "I wasn't happy with
     my other agent.  My mom didn't really like him too much. 
     She didn't tell me for a while.  They kind of pushed her
     over the limit and that made my life a lot harder. ... It
     was the company.  The individual was great, but the company
     controlled the individual."  Williams also said that he
     "intends to report" to Rangers' spring training on March 9

     coach (TORONTO SUN, 2/21)....GARTH BROOKS' spring training
     tryout with the Padres was featured on ABC's "World News
     Sunday," as ABC's CAROLE SIMPSON said, "He wants more hits
     and he's taking a real swing at it" (ABC, 2/21).
