DOLPHINS RAISE TICKET PRICES FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS

The Dolphins increased the price of their average
season ticket to $35.97 on Tuesday, according to Armando
Salguero of the MIAMI HERALD. Dolphins President Eddie
Jones said that prices in the team's seven seating
categories will increase between $1 and $3, but will "rank
no higher than" 25th among the league's 31 teams "and could
rank lower, depending on whether other teams raise their
prices." The team "will net approximately" $500,000 from
the 4.8% price increase. The highest increase to the
regular seats will be on "lower-level sideline seats and the
popular economy sections." In '98, the Dolphins ranked 27th
among 30 NFL teams in average ticket price (MIAMI HERALD,
2/17). In Ft. Lauderdale, Cesar Brioso notes the increase is
the team's first in two years (SUN-SENTINEL, 2/17).
