THE DIRTY WORDS: FALCONS TICKET PRICES INCREASING NEXT YEAR

Falcons Exec VP/Administration Jim Hay said that the
team "will increase prices for both season and individual
tickets" next season, according to Matt Kempner of the
ATLANTA CONSTITUTION. Hay: "We think even with the increase
we would be in the lower half of the league [in the team's
average ticket price], which we think would be good value
for the quality of the team." Hay "declined to say exactly"
how much prices would rise, but that "the team will announce
the specifics in the next few weeks." Falcons tickets
averaged $30 for season-ticket holders and $33 for most
individual tickets. The move comes with GA Dome officials
"pushing" to get suite and club-level seat holders to extend
their original leases, which expire following the 2001
season. To date, only "about" 500 of the 4,600 club-level
seat holders have done so (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 1/27).
