OLYMPIC ASPIRATIONS: SOCOG EXEC STEPS DOWN; NEW TAMPA HEAD

          Rod McGeoch has resigned his seat on the SOCOG Board of
     Directors in the wake of "allegations he sought a fee for
     speech about the Sydney Olympics," which he denies, according
     to Ed Hula's AROUND THE RINGS.  Australian Olympic Committee
     President John Coates said that a replacement will be named
     "within a few days" (AROUND THE RINGS, 11/24).
          NEW LEADER FOR TAMPA: Hillsborough County Commissioner
     Ed Turanchik "is expected to announce today that he will
     resign" to lead Tampa's bid for the 2012 Olympics.  A press
     conference will be held today (ST. PETE TIMES, 11/24).
