BIRDS OF A FEATHER: FALCONS JOIN TO MARKET "DIRTY BIRDS"

Falcons G Gene Williams and long-snapper Adam Schreiber
have formed "Dirty Birds Football" and have started selling
T-shirts and hats touting the team's new touchdown dance,
according to Matt Winkeljohn of the ATLANTA CONSTITUTION.
Williams said that he and Schreiber applied for a trademark
for the term "Dirty Birds Football" and "hired an attorney
to help form a corporation." They also hired team PR
Assistant Bill Rosen to help market the concept. Williams:
"Basically, our mission is to get the Dirty Birds out there
in the public." TE O.J. Santiago "bestowed" the nickname on
the team and created the endzone dance. The first black T-
shirts feature "Dirty Birds Football" on the front and the
saying "You can do eet" on the back. The players have begun
wearing the shirts (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/19).
BIRDS SONG: In a sidebar, Winkeljohn reports that
"nearly" 19,000 tickets remain unsold for Sunday's game
against the Bears, giving the Falcons "no chance for a
sellout" and guaranteeing that the game will be blacked out
in the Atlanta area (ATLANTA CONSTITUTION, 11/19).
