SCHOTT CALLS REDS INCREASE "PATHETIC": The Reds have
increased ticket prices by "about" 10%, the club's third
increase since '93. The team's new average ticket price,
estimated at $9.65, is about $1 higher than last year. It
is the "first time" that Reds CEO John Allen has raised
prices "across the board." Reds Owner Marge Schott called
the increase "pathetic" (CINCINNATI ENQUIRER, 11/13).
NOTES: In N.Y., Peter Vecsey writes that new Nets co-
Owners Ray Chambers and Lewis Katz gave a $1.5M "reward" to
team CEO Michael Rowe and "nothing" to Exec VP & coach John
Calipari, even though Calipari was "the one truly
responsible for reversing" the team's fortunes (N.Y. POST,
11/13)....The NFL Cardinals will host the Cowboys at Sun
Devil Stadium Sunday, and with the local blackout lifted it
marks the first home game since December 24, 1995 to be
televised in Phoenix (USA TODAY, 11/13)....In Vancouver,
Gary Mason wrote on the Canucks financial situation, saying
the team is "in trouble." Mason: "I don't care which way
you slice the numbers, this franchise is in jeopardy unless
things change fast" (VANCOUVER SUN, 11/12).
