EXECUTIVE TRANSACTIONS

          Golden Bear Golf promoted ANDREW O'BRIEN to
     VP/Marketing.  O'Brien will assume the responsibilities of
     former Golden Bear Golf Senior VP & Dir THOMAS HISLOP, who
     is leaving Golden Bear.  Assisting O'Brien will be sports
     marketing consulting firm THE JAVELIN GROUP (Golden Bear
     Golf)....JAMES ESKRIDGE was named Chair & CEO of KY-based
     footwear maker Stride Rite, which owns several brand names,
     including Keds, Sperry Top-Sider and Tommy Hilfiger. 
     Eskridge is a former President & CEO of Fisher-Price (BOSTON
     GLOBE, 11/12)....The MetroStars named AUGUST SHTINO as Exec
     VP and JIM LEAHY as VP/Sales & Marketing.  Shtino joins the
     organization from MetroMedia and Leahy was formerly
     President & CEO of sports marketing firm Emerging
     Professional Sports Teams (MetroStars)...JARED WEISS was
     named a partner in NY-based Steiner Sports Marketing.  Weiss
     will be responsible for new business development,
     advertising and new product development (Steiner).
